Wound Care
The care and healing of wounds have presented many challenges to health care professionals
- more specifically to the home care industry. Significant research and literature on the subject
have yet to reveal the ideal approach, process, and product. One thing does remain constant - it's not
just a wound that is being treated, more importantly, it's a patient with a wound. All aspects of a person's
condition can affect the healing of a wound. Optimal care requires knowledge of the wound healing process as
well as the products and factors that can favorably affect the outcome.
All Nursing Home Health Services, Inc. has dedicated an entire division to the care of patients with wounds.
Each patient is assessed at the time of admission and enters the systematic approach to wound care based on risk
factors and individual needs. Our program includes the following:
- Focused Education for Patients/Staff
- Monitored Procedures and Skills
- Observation and Assessment
- Wound Dressing Protocols
- Algorithms for Wounds
- Based on Nursing Practice
- Documentation of Treatment Efficacy with outcomes
